Beach is clean, people are respectful of social distancing. Food is available for purchase so it saves you having to pack a lunch. Ice cream is great, nice and creamy. Will definitely go back soon!!
There was way too many jellyfish but the place is just an ordinary place it has an ice cream place, a water slide and all. But just too many jellyfish MAY BE DANGEROUS.
We went on a Tuesday 7/28. We reached around 9:20 and there was plenty of parking and plenty of space to spread out in the beach. The sand was hot and water was cool. There are no waves to speak of, so not good for boogie boarding. And as high tide was coming in, there were people who where jumping off rocks and riding the water like lazy river. That looked like fun. We even saw a submarine pulling into the port. All the parties were socially distanced. No food was available but the restrooms were open and clean. I loved how they have covered areas with benches facing the beach for anyone who is unable to walk on the sand. They also had a big covered area with picnic benches. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this beach and would not hesitate going there again, pandemic or no pandemic.
I don't recommend that you bring your family here It's not a safe place with no one at the park to be found until the lifeguards that show up at 11 am. Not one New London Police Officer on duty all day. Loud Boomboxes and Radios blasting vulgar music everywhere with no one enforcing the no loud music regulation. Illegal alcohol and the smell of marijuana everywhere.
