As we wanted to combine a walk to the falls with a fish lunch but make sure we would get a table for our group, we tried to call this restaurant for a reservation at least 10 times using the phone number from its website. Finally our hotel concierge was able to reach the place, having found a mobile number for someone at the restaurant. There is an enclosed porch for semi-al fresco meals along with the regular, rustic interiors. Interesting to note are the markings of how high the river Doubs reached during various floods. All those who ordered trout were satisfied with their meals; my breaded chicken cutlet however was dry and somewhat tough. The strawberry cake looked lovely but was way too sweet.
Walking from les brenets to Le saut du doubs 1hr 30 , slow pace, arrived at the restaurant ,looked a bit shabby from the out side, but once inside ,looked old but had a charm, pleasant staff efficient , food was simple but very good. We found out by a local that the food was really home made but demand from the tourist you wanted mc Donald chip the owner had to oblige , but on the all we had a nice we returned by boat .
We went there after visiting the waterfall. It was already 14:30 so it wasn 't crowded. The service was fast and helpful. The fish was delicious. The scenery was wonderful as it is on the lakeside with views on the boats that come and go every 20 min and to people that go around the lake with paddle boats or canoe. Would definitely suggested it to everyone who visits le saut-du doubs
Für einen Gruppenausflug die Gegend rekognosziert. Gut und Preiswert gegessen. Eignet sich gut für Gruppen.
