The staff at this restaurant were extremely friendly and accommodating. They specialize in plant-based and fermented dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.
This restaurant is authentic! I love the kefir, all flavors are amazing. You should definitely give it a try if you can.
I visited Kauai Ferments for the first time since they opened in mid-January. The store is no-frills with a simple menu, counter, and merchandise displayed in a glass refrigerator case. Amanda Rosenthal, the friendly owner, thoroughly explained her locally-sourced products and offered samples. I purchased the Vegan Wild Kimchi (which was amazing) and pineapple-ginger sparkling water. Parking at Puhi Plaza on Saturdays can be challenging due to farmers' market patrons parking rudely. I plan to return to try the other flavors of sparkling water, such as elderberry, ginger beet, ginger turmeric, ginger lime, lilikoi, and hibiscus lime, as well as seasonal options. They also offer kimchi, krauts, and seasonal veggies.
