Really good honest traditional french comfort food made with heart and soul! We had the Beef with sauteed veggie, potato puree, and a veggie flan and a home made delicious foie gras plate with raw veggies all of it was so very good i would...return here absolutely for sure!
This place is wonderful. It’s a nondescript restaurant tucked away on a street behind the main walking area. I just saw the sign saying “restaurant” I couldn’t even see a name for the place at all. There was a chalk board outside with the menu...in French and some opening hours written on the door. Two men were sitting inside on one of the 5 tables drinking wine and I asked it they were serving dinner. Yes they were so I sat down at a table. It’s a cute tiny little restaurant with old CD/ raps played sitting on a wine barrel with the menu’s on top. There are some beautiful wines on display to buy. I ordered the duck and a wine. The owner who is also the waiter and the chef brought me a beautiful 2008 chateau de neuf de papes white wine to go with the duck! Then he went and cooked me a beautiful generous portion of duck with exotic mushrooms and some vegetables. It was divine. Unfortunately I couldn’t fit desert in. It was €27 for a wine and the duck and there is eftpos too. Check out the cool old pictures on the wall in the ladies toilet. I loved this experience. Finding somewhere not on google by just walked by and getting a feel for the place. This is really authentic French food from a local!
We passed in front of this small restaurant whilst visiting the city. It smelled incredibly good so we stopped, came back, had a look inside and decided to eat there instead of the touristy area close to the river. We could not have made a...better choice: food was extremely tasty, red wine was cool (which is pretty rare in France) and the owner just lovely. What else to ask?
