Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI ordered a meal for my family to celebrate my birthday. However, when we received our food, it was not what we expected. The MAYAN SHRIMP BOWL was supposed to be a warm dish but turned out to be cold. The description did not specify that it would be served cold. The mushroom mozza burger my husband ordered was also disappointing and not worth the $16 price tag. My daughter would not eat her kids butter-parm pasta from the kids menu, and when I tried it, I found it to be unappetizing. The lack of description on the kids' pasta dishes led to a misunderstanding. Overall, my birthday dinner was a disappointing experience and not worth the money we spent.
When my husband picked up our food, we were extremely disappointed. He ordered the 20-piece chicken wings, which turned out to be rubbery, undercooked, and soggy. After trying three wings, he threw the rest away. Moreover, out of the 20 wings, only two were thighs. I had ordered the Avocado Chicken Club and the Prosciutto Flatbread. The chicken breast in the sandwich seemed to be the frozen, pre-cooked and seasoned kind that can be bought in a box. Although the sandwich sounded good in theory, it was bland and the chicken should have been fresh. The only highlight of the meal was the flatbread, which was unique and delicious. The rest of the menu seemed like basic home-cooked meals that any cook could make. When Crabby Joes renovated the exterior of their restaurants, I had hoped they would also update their menu. We hadn't visited in about six years due to a disappointing experience last time, but decided to give it another chance; unfortunately, we were even more disappointed this time.
Despite the unpleasant experience at the beginning, the food we ordered was fantastic. The delicious meal made the outing worthwhile and made up for the earlier negative encounter. If I were the owner, I would consider using paper placemats to add some flair to the plain and sticky tables at this restaurant, perhaps in black. We visit this restaurant several times a year and have a vested interest in its success.
We tried several restaurants in Listowel since moving here 7 months ago. Joe’s has been consistent and offers a good menu choice. Not disappointed so far
Dining room is just too dark for my taste. The lighting in this restaurant is terrible. The front doorway outside was littered with cigarette butts and no outdoor welcome mat. I was put off by that and wondered if we made a mistake coming there with out-of-town guests for dinner. Surely the owner cares enough to see that the front door gets cleaned! Even if it is outside on the sidewalk!! Don't expect any special touches on the tables as they are sooooo boringly plain! The wings were very very small and the ribs had hardly any meat but they were tasty. The salad was generous and looked very good. I do love that all the waitresses help bring food to your table and the girls are very attentive. Kudos for that.
