The Root Community Emporium

Great little cafe/restaurant in LloydminsterThe Root is definitely somewhere worth visiting if you're on your route to, from or through the area.

The Root continues to be my favorite stop in Lloydminster. The art hanging on the wall changes with every visit, but the coffee is always exceptional!

This is the place to get good sushi and large portions Has a cafe feel with art on the walls and items for sale Has a stage for occasional music.

This is our second time coming here for lunch and it didn't disappoint. The changes to the decor and the addition of the full bar are a big plus. The food was fantastic and our server was engaging, funny and took great care of us! When the Rose my wife ordered was unavailable she brought over two other samples to try out and the pour was generous. I had the Paddock Brewery Black Cat (Yum!)and ordered the salmon fish cake with asparagus and chive Hollandaise, which was delicious.My wife had the chicken carbonara, and I almost wish I had ordered that because it was probably the best version of this dish I've ever had. Unctuous, creamy and just the right hit of bacony goodness.This place is a gem in a sea of franchise fare, and I wish it every success!

I give it a 3 on my scales out of 5. The staff were friendly, enough with the customers, the food was hot not spicy hot heat hot, which you don't always get.
