Main: Salmon Champagne and Sea Bass Green Sauce, i love fish!!! The sauce is interesting. Side dishes: Parnsip, Broccoli, Mashed potatoes. Dessert: Chocolate Tart with yogurt sorbet. We also order a bottle of white wine, after everything we felt so full and satisfied. The service was brilliant, staffs engaged with customers with heart (not just a robotic service), its absolutely light up our whole dinning experience.
Such a great experience for me! The staff was friendly and so nice, explained every single thing on the menu and wine list. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and the tipsy cake was superb!!
Given the dinner was 500/head (including wine I was heavily underwhelmed. None of the courses was surprising nor had any ingredients or elements that were new or unknown to me. Most of the courses I would know how to cook or even cooked myself already at home (saffron risotto with beef cheek for a Michelin star dinner, really? , while usually I wouldn't even know the ingredients yet how to prepare them. We had 5 courses, which is also joke for this price. They served bread and butter upfront no amuse bouche or anything you'd expect at this level. Everything tasted well, it was just not what I expected for this kind of dining. I had dinners for half the price that were far beyond this experience, and I don't even want to start comparing this to previous experiences I had at this price level. I understand London is more expensive than other places, but even in London I had better experience for half the price. The atmosphere is like in a busy, well organized hotel restaurant (well, this is what it is , optimized for throughput. The only thing I can't complain about is the service, which was professional and efficient. This restaurant clearly lives from one time visitors being drawn by the brand of Heston Blumenthal. Well, we were one of the many falling for this. We still had a great evening despite the circumstances.
I had a wonderful dinner here. We opted for the full explanations of all the dishes and I really enjoyed this aspect of the meal! Learning about the historical significance of the recipes was very interesting. We got the famous meat fruit well worth it, it was delicious. I actually thought the lamb and cucumber was a bit salty for my taste, but the lamb was cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed the roasted cucumber! I was skeptical about the idea of warm cucumber, but it was really delicious. The nitrogen ice cream was very fun! We enjoyed the explanation that came along with that as well and the strawberry compote in the bottom of the cone may have been the best bit of the night. Overall an excellent restaurant and experience
Worth the hype! Excellent flavours in everything we ordered. The meat fruit was spectacular and so was the pork chop. We had 2 vegetarians on our table and they enjoyed their meals as well. The deserts were not of the same calibre of the starters and mains..an area of improvement. But the nitrogen ice cream was delicious
