Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónThis place seems to be a great hit so we decided to visit for dinner last Friday. Good thing I made a reservation as the place was brimming with folks all set to bring on the weekend. For starters, we called for a portion of the prawn chive dumplings these were pretty bland tasting and we had to dunk them in the sweet chili sauce for some flavor to come through. In addition, we also called for the steamed bbq roast pork buns (which were quite nice), and a portion of the beef satay (this was really good and very flavorful). The quantity of the plates is quite less and the prices aren't high either. That being said, we were still hungry, so we went ahead and ordered more starters duck spring rolls which were quite nice with the dark dipping sauce that came with it, and a portion of the chili salt fried squid these were so good. The squid was juicy and the batter around it was crispy very happy with this one. We were quite full by then, but we had already placed an order for the Singapore noodles with chicken. This dish was nice barring the fact that the chicken tasted a little weird. The service is quick if you are seated at a table from where its easy to wave your arm and get the staff's attention. Decent meal, easy on the pocket.
This restaurant is one of my top choices for Happy Hour! With Happy Hour specials on weekdays from 5-7pm and all day on Sundays, it's the perfect spot to unwind. The Asian-inspired cocktails are delicious and pack a punch. The atmosphere is always lively, especially after work hours. My go-to dish on the menu is the prawn and chive dumplings - I can't resist ordering them every time! I highly recommend giving them a try. Another bonus is that they accept Tastecard for 2-for-1 dining, saving extra money to enjoy more cocktails. Just a heads up, the bathrooms could use some improvement.
My group of five friends decided to stop by this restaurant after work on a Wednesday night. The place was packed with trendy young people chatting about their work and weekend plans, and surprisingly, we felt right at home. Once we were seated, we wasted no time in ordering cocktails and carefully examining the menu. The menu offered a variety of dumplings, rice and noodle dishes, roast pork and duck, and salads. Among our choices were king prawn dumplings, Peking chicken wings, potstickers, Vietnamese spring rolls, steamed pork buns, and almond braised broccoli. We enjoyed all the dishes while chatting and gossiping, but some dishes stood out more than others. Surprisingly, one of our favorites was the broccoli, which was unexpectedly delicious. I personally loved the sui mai and king prawn dumplings, which are my go-to dim sum dishes and they were well-made here. However, I was disappointed with the roast duck hot pot, as the duck lacked flavor and was poorly arranged on the rice. Lesson learned for me to stick to Chinatown for my favorite roast duck. The wontons were also a letdown, as they were greasy and not worth the calories. Despite these minor flaws, we enjoyed the food enough to order another round of dumplings, even though we were already full. You can read more about our experience on the blog!
Yes this place is as cool as it sounds. Cocktails, dims and great music make for a dangerously enjoyable combination. I'll usually just order a few dim sum dishes and then mix and match with my friends. The steamed dumplings are all very good and the pak choi is excellent. This place us very popular so if you don't reserve in advanced it's going to be a long wait but you can always hang around the bar area and have a few drinks. For such a nice venue I found the service a bit sub par nevertheless, overall it's still a very good restaurant.
The Drunken Monkey is right next to my flat, so after driving past it numerous times, I finally decided to visit. You realise the distinct authentic interior as soon as you enter the restaurant, and this is also present in the food that they serve. The Dim-Sum that they serve is fantastic, the Crab-Meat dumplings are brilliant. This was nicely accompanied by one (or a few! of the Monkey-Mojitos . There is a unique and lively crowd here. Overall, its a great, well-priced dim sum restaurant in East London. Would definitely recommend to everyone who is in the area.
