We ate here on Sunday for Mother's Day and tbh everything was just okay nothing great or fantastic. We had reservations for 6 people at 6pm and we were seated promptly. Shortly after, our server came to take our order and we were curious about the Lobster Ravioli special. We asked our server what her opinions were regarding the special since we've never visited Russo's before. She couldn't tell us what it was like since she's allergic to lobster. Now, this is just my opinion... as I work in the hospitality/restaurant industry... but it would be difficult to employ someone who was allergic to the food my restaurants served. All she could say was that she heard it was good. Eh. We ordered a variety of dishes so that we could try a variety of dishes. The Lobster Ravioli was just mediocre. It was bland, tasteless, and mushy. The Seafood risotto was just as bland, tasteless, and mushy. The porkchops were tough and dry. The avocado pizza was pretty decent. The bread for the table they served was probably the best tasting item we had during dinner. I will say their portions are huge and definitely for sharing. We all took our leftovers home. But here I am two days later, and I haven't touched my leftovers sitting in my fridge!
I don't live in the area, and was invited by my Father and his wife to celebrate my Birthday. All around, I was impressed. The atmosphere, food, and customer service were simply outstanding. I had a pizza, by recommendation by our waitress and that I have never had before, and it was simply superb. The drinks were made on point. The waitress was friendly and always made sure we were taken care of with a smile. it's got that neighborhood feel, atmosphere, and look with a touch of elegance about it. It's simple Italian ingredients to really make for flavorful and enjoyable meals. If you're in the area, then you have to stop in for dinner!
Russo's has been a presence on Naples Island for almost 30 years, first at Pasta Al Dente then renamed. They serve a wide variety of dishes with quiet friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. We recently hosted a retirement dinner for my wife and our close friends at Russo's and it was a wonderful evening. Some of the basics were exceptionally good like the fried calamari and home made focaccia bread. The pasta, fish, and meat dishes were all served in generous portions and carefully prepared. Our guests all enjoyed themselves immensely. Having lived in Chicago for 30 years, I miss the small intimate Italian restaurants which the city is famous for. Most people in Chicag have their favorite. Russo's is that type of place with a loyal clientele that swear by it. We look forward to many future dinners there.
Came here for date night with my wife and we loved it! Their drinks were nice, strong and generous. I'm a big fan of giving the martini in the shaker. For dinner we shared their Margherita pizza and pasta di mare, and both were phenomenal. The atmosphere is very laid back and relaxing, and the service is very attentive and cordial. I'm just disappointed after visiting belmont shores /Naples for 10 years it's taken me this long to come here. Don't make the mistake I made come check this place out.
