The unending influx of people confirmed for us we had made a good choice. €17.50 prix fixe menu of two courses and a glass of wine was excellent value. Chatty, friendly, professional service. Tender pink roast veal after a delicious salad with fennel, Comte cheese, ham and hazelnuts. We paid a little extra for the Cafe Gourmand espresso coffee and four miniature desserts, all excellent. I give 5 stars when a restaurant does what it promises and does it well. This one certainly does that and we enjoyed a very good lunch.
Enjoyed a late lunch here waiting for the Eurostar. The food was ok, the place was clean, but the wine we ordered came up in a shabby carafe with a false bottom, coloured to look like wine!
This is value for money. We started with a coupe champagne, had the set menu for the day at 17.50€ including a glass of wine, and finished with the cafe gourmand menu for an extra 2€ each! Plenty of choice. We both started with the salad of the day which was fresh and delicious and then had the roast veal which was pink, tender, and full of flavour. The cafe gourmand came with four tastes of the desserts on offer. Stunning flavours. The service is brisk and attentive. The place is packed by about 12.20, so it’s worth getting there early. Highly recommended.
We decided to eat here before we caught the Rhone Express. Our usual place was shut. Had the menu du jour. I had the Skate my partner had the the Beef. Pretty good as were the starters. Good service. An enjoyable experience.
