Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe took the old nostalgia trains of the Mariazellerbahn to this charming pilgrimage four or five times, but it was only on our last visit that we did NOT fill in this wonderful family-run restaurant with foreign tourists. It was raining when we arrived and when we saw in our soggy-Falten rain ponchos in one of the most famous brewery restaurants that were only popular with tourists to have the door half hut in our faces, like the owner on a sign in German that apparently fully said. Try and pour for a dry, cozy place to retreat for food and warm up, we appreciate happy to have found the restaurant at Hotel Drei Hasen just a short walk away. There we were cordially greeted by the family's staff, who showed the place for the last half century, to a charming table, handmade menus with traditional dishes that made our mouth water, and treated with the most friendly, friendly attention to a fine meal with Austrians for our companions instead of foreign tourists. This is a great, warm, authentic place with some of the best local dishes we found in Mariazell. Sliced on the bones, we decided to start with the deliciously light and tasteful beef consommé (rind soup) with piquant mushroom noodles, followed by divided portions of seasonal asparagus with Hollandaise sauce and a few potatoes, and for our main dishes, two heaps of very savory beef goulash, also with potatoes. We have paired this large, substantial meal with several glasses of good wine and enjoyed both our meals and the ambience of the place. While we have dined, a big party of locals, children and dogs appeared in the tow to celebrate a family celebration. Everyone smiled and seemed happy, and while the festivities continued, the sun came out. We spoke and enjoyed looking at all interesting things on the walls, pictures of local folk celebrations, testimonies and other memories that characterize the decades of belonging to this family, and we felt happy to have shared together, alive, in the joy of ordinary people, who combined the simple pleasure of meal. The prices were very modest, well below what we probably paid in the restaurant that turned us away. To our great surprise and satisfaction we had a more friendly and authentic experience, with dishes that surpassed in quality and quantity, all we had before in Mariazell. During our next visit we will arrive for lunch or dinner directly to the Three Hares. We also recommend this.
I had a very tasty goulash; Meat very delicate and lots of sauce and the potatoes were perfectly cooked. The children had spaghetti with tomato sauce (as the sauce distanced and we had to ask for a bowl of pure spaghetti) and Wienerschnitzel and chips. My glass of Almdudler was on the flat side, but that would be my only nigger.
Thank you for a very relaxing short break. Beautiful meal every night, an excellent breakfast and the best herb splash from Mrs Kroenis. Thank you again and we hope to return in the future. Family Majoros
