It was tough to make a choice because everyone was extremely happy with their selections. The atmosphere was just right—not too upscale and not too casual. Overall, it was far above average. We'll definitely be back!
I was searching for a tasty Irish corned beef special, and I got lucky discovering this restaurant. The special was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and exceptional. They had Irish music playing, and the atmosphere was wonderful with a great crowd. I will definitely be returning!
We started with the fried pickle appetizer, ordered the beet arugula salad, and had chicken fingers with fries. Everything was quite tasty. The pickles tasted either homemade or like they were freshly made in the fridge. The coating was perhaps a bit too thick, but they were nice and crispy. These were served as chips with an outstanding spicy remoulade. My daughter, who is a bit picky, didn't quite enjoy them, but I loved them! If I hadn't been on a diet, I would have devoured the entire plate! I really enjoyed the beet salad. It came with chunks of yellow and red beets on a fresh bed of arugula and mixed greens, adorned with walnut-sized, perfectly fried goat cheese balls and macadamia nuts. The salad was lightly dressed with balsamic vinaigrette, which was not overpowering or oily; although I could have used a bit more or perhaps a dash of salt and pepper. Regardless, it was a fantastic salad that I truly enjoyed. The chicken fingers were four substantial pieces of crispy chicken breast tenders served with excellent fries, which my daughter absolutely loved. This is definitely a great spot in Arlington, and if I'm ever in the area again, I would certainly stop by!
Brownie ice sundae needs more ice cream service friendly/efficient would go back for the steak tips drinks , leagues away{way better} from the town tavern arlington {AVOID}
Decided to go here before heading into Cambridge for a play. Myself and two friends. The fish chips was atrocious. I couldn't eat it. The absolute worst Fish and Chips I'd ever been served. The batter was thick and full of oil. The fish (if that's even what it was) had no taste (maybe an oil taste) and the texture was horrid. I left the whole thing, and ate when I got home from the play. I can't believe they served this to paying customers. I've had Fish and Chips at Town Tavern and its wonderful. Should have gone there as usual. I'd advise sticking to burgers at Mentomy. I'm still mad about it, not just for the cost of the meal, but for how extremely bad it was. Inedible.
