But a Groupon lowered the risk factor, and so there I went. First I want to mention the service. We were seated right away, and our server was great. She was so pleasant and helpful. Next, the ambiance. You guys! The design in there is so neat. I feel like I should be kneeling at the table like a samurai. We each got a Bento box. I got the shrimp tempura and teriyaki chicken with tori karaage, which were like tiny chicken nuggets. The tori karaage wasn't bad by any means, but I already had a lot of chicken, so I wish I had gotten the sashimi. I was able to try my friend's. It was fresh and high quality. All the food was really good and came out fast. I got super stuffed. I don't know how busy this place ever gets, and I wonder if a better location might help them get more business. They deserve it! I'll definitely go back when I have a few extra bucks.
We bought the Groupon for 4 for this place. I did not expect much when i bought the Groupon, but this place indeed is really good. They also offer 50% off on certain rolls if you sign up for an app or something similar. We did not sign up so we aren 't sure how that work. The restaurant 's setting is nice and cozy, it 's a big restaurant and quiet busy on Friday night. We ordered sashimi, a hot pot, mussel shooter, seafood tempura and 2 taki rolls. The sashimi was alright, the fishes were fresh, included common fishes that every sushi restaurant offered with decent price. I like their hot pot, it 's a seafood hot pot. It 's called hot pot but it actually a big bowl of noodles and seafood. The name can be misleading but we enjoy the food to not really care about it. Mussel shooter are alright too, we ordered 2 orders, which came with 4 mussel and 4 quail eggs but they did not have enough quail egg so one of the mussel missed 1 quail egg. The least favorite food that night is seafood tempura. It 's pricy compare to other food, but the taste wasn 't justified with the price of the tempura. Those taki rolls were good as well. Overall, i like this place. The waitress was really helpful and nice to us. The price is affordable. Their fishes are fresh. Good place to try out and enjoy the Midvale area.
I don't do sushi, but wanted to try other things on the menu. I got the tempura which was pretty good. Service was okay. Also, the ramen was pretty good. Would go back for some more soon.
I love the combination dinners, a variety to choose from. I had the chicken katsu and beef sukiyaki...yum! An abundance amount of food, tasty n always consistent. The waitresses r the best! They've been there a long time so, when u walk in, it's like walking into a family reunion. The restaurant has many different dishes from sushi to tempura to teriyaki, too much to choose from. Prices are comparable to other Japanese Restaurants. The owner is so welcoming n makes u feel right at home. I go there when I need comfort food n feel like I need to be around friends n family...
Our $20 Groupon was the motivating factor to get us in the door today. My four rolls, California, Philadelphia, tuna, and salmon, we're all fresh and meaty. The variety of rolls were my entrée and I was pleased with my choices. This is a good neighborhood sushi restaurant. You will not be disappointed in the rolls. The decor and tables are comfortable and there is plenty of free parking. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at Suhiro, but if I was in the neighborhood, this spot should be on your short list of sushi bars. Salute!
