A & J Fish & Chicken - Minneapolis

I haven't had A J for awhile. Now I know why. My food was horribly made. My chicken and fish was cooked in old oil and extremely oily. My chicken gyro was was gristly and not seasoned. It's was so disappointing that I spent a lot of on foodthat wasn't worth it at all. Especially since I use to be a reg customer when I lived in the community. So I missed somethingthat wasn't up to their old standard quality. Grade F

First time, ordered 2 catfish strip meals, it was a lot of fish, at 6 or 7 strips, 6 piece chicken wings. The fish was decent but was missing something in the seasoning. The chicken wing definitely need more seasoning, we ordered plain. Not a fan of thefries, coleslaw was ok.

So I decided to try this restaurant out, because I wanted to support something more local. I ordered the cheese curds and catfish nuggets to be delivered via DoorDash. After I received my food, I noticed that I received cheese STICKS and the catfishnuggets. Thinking they had messed up, I looked at the receipt and noticed it said cheese sticks, too. Thinking that maybe I hadpressed the wrong button, I checked the app: it turns out that they were out of cheese curds and substituted them for cheesesticks instead (note that you can mark that in the app on the business end, so the guest doesn't accidentally order an itemyou're out of). Okay, that's fine, sometimes you run out of stuff and it doesn't get marked; my issue is that I never receiveda call or message? I didn't want cheese sticks; I didn't like their cheese sticks. If they had called me, I would have requestedhush puppies or a refund instead. Clearly they know how to use DoorDash on their end, because they did a substitution throughtheir app. If you're out of something, then you should call the customer; you don't just give them what you want to givethem. As expected, the cheese sticks sucked (and that's not because of the bad experience; they just weren't good; they remindme of the frozen ones you buy in bulk and bake in the oven), but the catfish nuggets were pretty good.

The catfish strips were awesome! I haven't had catfish in MN so that's saying something too. The hot sauce was yummy, not a fan of the cole slaw but I think it's because it sat for a bit in the hot styrofoam container. I will definitely be going backand make sure to order ahead of time.

Catfish Nuggets and a catfish sandwich is all I've ever got and if u think you were better, then you've never been here to check them!!
