Taberna Da Travessa - Monção

We went today for lunch, the restaurant was full with a couple of people in the waiting list. When we tried to get into the waiting list, the answer was no, we have too many clients already, and the list is too long and dismissed us...

We discovered this restaurant by chance. Staff was friendly and service excellent. Food was great. I really recommend the “costelão de boi maturado”, also the cheese “queijo da serra” and ham were delicious.

My mother, brother and I went to enjoy a sunny rustic lunch here. The ambiance was fitting of the Portuguese culture and the food exceeded all expectations. The steak was tender and melted in our mouths like butter. The cod fish was perfectly tempered and the lamb cutlets were the juiciest I've ever had! The staff were friendly and welcoming, with the owner even speaking English. Would highly recommend for everyone to visit if they're looking for a delicious wholesome meal in the heart of the Portuguese culture.

Try the Naco costeletão amazing steak with wonderful fries. Lovely little place and would return anytime. Good price.

We found this restaurant accidentally looking for a place to have lunch and it seemed that only locals come there. Totally unexpectedly we got very good service and food. A very lively and friendly lady not only fed us with good homemade food and provided with good house wine but also treated with flan for dessert and offered a digestive for the road :
