First time in Motta to pick up a family size Lasagne and was very satisfied. Just like my mother used to... They also had a good selection of salads and pastries available. I chose Cannelloni and Tiramisu wow, let me tell you the best I ever had! Anyway, I'll go back. I like the fact that they have a family menu helps me when it's my night to feed the gang. Anyway, I'll go back.
This place is basic. They rely heavily on the microwave. The food is fresh, but the service is lacking. The staff seems disinterested or distracted. However, it is still a good deal for the price. I ordered a sausage sandwich that was heated up in the microwave and served in aluminum foil. The service was not very attentive and the sandwich was cold. They attempted to reheat it in the microwave, but it turned out soggy and tasteless. We also tried a piece of pizza that was microwaved and tasted worse than frozen supermarket pizza. They offer a variety of pre-made foods that they will microwave for you when you order. This is not authentic Italian cuisine, but rather a sad excuse for it. While some may enjoy home-style cooking, reheated in a microwave by an inexperienced cook, it lacks in quality and taste. Overall, this place leaves much to be desired and falls short of expectations.
Everything you can eat pasta.... It will serve a plate at your table at a time. We were a 10-person group and there was only one waiter, so it was pretty long... We get one/two slides and then we wait 10-15 minutes for another service. So the concept is good, but you don't want to get a date or go with a group, so... Pasta are pretty good (at Krustenpizza) for a fast food. No alcohol there
Whenever we visit Montreal (we live about two hours away in Northern NY), we always make a point to dine at Pizza Motta. It offers some of the best Italian cuisine you can find in the area, and at very reasonable prices. The menu has a wide variety of options, all prepared excellently, and the service is top-notch.
Located just to the southeast of Jean Talon Market, Pizza Motta offers a wide variety of freshly prepared specialty foods and baked goods. Pick up some goodies to take home or eat on the road. Indulge in gourmet pizza and prepared salads, croissant and tiramisu....This too, is a must visit especially if you do not have the time to venture into Little Italy.
