Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónNo trip to Montreal is complete without a visit here. Excellent sourced products served with care and knowledge. Absolutely one of my favourite restaurants in Montreal.
We went as 3 couples. The restaurant is cozy. For starters the menu is written on a large blackboard, in Italian. This means the waiter will spend some time explaining the choices to you. On the plus side your mouth will water as he details the novel food inspirations. On the minus side you can't read ahead nor remind yourself unless your Italian is really good. The menu changes with the season so I won't go in to much detail on what we chose. Cheese stuffed deep fried Zucchini flowers, a stuffed pork chop, a prime rib steak to share, Black Cod, braised lamb shoulder, desserts of a Nutella-like pizza with deep-fried dough and Budino were favourites. I don't do them proper service without describing what made them great but to say the flavour combinations were well thought out and made with attention. The wine list is extensive. Yes all Italian wines -:)Serge looked after us with excellence appearing relaxed and casual but totally serious that we enjoy ourselves and the meal.
We were a group of 5 for a business meeting and the service and speed were absolutely awesome. The waiter proposed appetizers that were all in the mark. Just awesomeness! However, the chef fell a little short on the mains. I took the lamb and it needed a tad more seasoning. My colleague took the filet and it just needed a little more salt. Everything was great. But just missed awesome. The deserts. Wow ! I'll be back. But I'll ask for salt ;).
Passed by the restaurant last Saturday, and decided to try it. We (2 couples) waited until one of the two outdoor tables was free, as the restaurant was completely booked. Just as well. The weather was magnificent. Unfortunately the street ambience was not the greatest, but who cares. While waiting, I took note of the ratings on Tripadvisor and we were truly looking forward to the meal.Settled on a margherita pizza and two different salads for the table along with a nice bottle of wine to start. The pizza was ... and this was ratified by all, among the best pizza we've ever enjoyed. A winner. The salads were terrific as well. For our entrees we selected two lobster raviolis, 1 gnocchi, and 1 ragu (bolognese?).All four dishes were a let down. Not bad , but totally lacking the wow of our starters. And at these price points, a tad unacceptable. So ... the next time we are in Little Italy and want a pizza, I wouldn't hesitate to revisit the restaurant and enjoy a pizza, some salad and a nice bottle of wine.
What about this little neighborhood restaurant? delicious and hearty cuisine. from real Italian cuisine that does not pasta only. a menu written to the slate that changes at the seasons, which is idilic because it is located right next to the Jean-Talon market. beautiful wine map that are often private imports. this little restest is perfect for being friends or in love. Don't hesitate and taste their taste of Italian.
