I enjoy eating here. My experiences have always been good. I'm from Jersey and I miss good Italian food. Good luck finding great Eggplant Parmesan anywhere but here. I've read some of these 2 star reviews and even though no restaurant is perfect, in the 5 times I have eaten here I have always had an excellent food. Oh, and I'm going back tomorrow!
Absolutely delicious! So much flavor in every dish.
Ok I’m going to try to write this review as respectfully as I can, while being honest. It was suggested to us that we try this place, so we did. As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted and sat down by our server/hostess, the atmosphere was nice. Although she was nice, the server was definitely on something (some sort of drug), she was way overly hyper, talking to herself, she wiggled her jaw a lot and she was continuously sniffling and wiping her nose on the back of her hand. I mean it was literally non stop. Describing it doesn’t do a thing versus seeing it in person. There was a time she even went back towards the kitchen area and blew her nose, I never saw her wash her hands (you can see back in the kitchen). She also blew her nose at the front of the restaurant as she cleaned one window non stop for about 15 minutes, no exaggeration. It was gross and we should have walked out. I know other customers noticed this as well. The food was just ok, the bread was the only thing that was excellent. The pasta sauce had an odd flavor and it smelled like sewage water, I can’t make it up. We only ate a few bites of our food and couldn’t finish the rest. My family is Italian and I can’t say I was overly impressed unfortunately. The prices on the bill also didn’t match the menu and when we asked we were told that the menus weren’t updated to reflect the new prices…not the customer’s problem by the way. Update your menus or at least let people know . We don’t mind paying good money for good food in a clean restaurant but that didn’t happen here. I’ve read reviews that others have written and it seems that whoever replies to those reviews has an answer or excuse for everything. I’m waiting to see what my reply will be. We wanted to like it but we won’t recommend it or be back. $70 down the drain. Sorry if this sounds harsh but it’s an honest review from our point of view.
For your average person this place is probably fine aside from it being a bit pricey. For me, if I'm paying for quality Italian food, I expect that... my expectations fell short here. The brandy marinara sauce for my seafood pasta hardly had any flavor and was very thin. I've had better marinara sauces out of a jar from grocery stores. Overall the food wasn't bad, but not worth the price in my opinion and my wife's for that matter. She got a veal pasta with sherry cream sauce and again, nothing to write home about. The most enjoyable part of the meal for me was the bread and olive oil although it's surprising that they have so much butter, garlic and other seasonings on the bread. It takes away from the oil and vinegar they have for the bread. I think the olive oil was good, but it was hard to really taste it over the garlic. I can't complain too much though, I do like fresh garlic. All in all, I will not be going back here. Sadly even if the prices were comparable to that of olive garden (which I never go to) I'm not sure I would ever go back. It just wasn't worth the experience and food.
