Somesville Freshies - Mount Desert

Horrible place to work for never again especially since they can't find managers to do their job and actually make sure their crew is to. Loved my job till an incident happened now I'm done. Also good luck with their food most of it is expired and not first in first out at all make sure u check every date and time on anything u buy.

They have cut way back on the amount of chicken salad in the wraps, literally hardly any in there, just started this a few days ago, rip off at $7.49 plus tax. No thanks.

The store itself is nice, clean and a nice selection including nice.....Hats! If you need hiking shade they have cool hats. The DELI is a nightmare. Workers rude, inept dont have a clue. Probably because Freshies like every other business on MDI cannot get workers and the people that are willing are a hot mess here. They are constantly making pizza literally and when you wish to order off menu they look bewildered and it will take awhile..........Meanwhile you will be lucky to find any 'hot food ' here at any given time the hot food area is literally usually totally empty how can this be? They manage to keep 'pepperoni pizza but everything else like hot dogs , burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, mozeralla stix forget it. And after 5pm good luck they do not like to make food for hot bar. Where we come from that hot bar stays full for folks especially around dinner time 5 8 burgers, fries, dogs, breadstix you are lucky to find those before noon not here they will leave you hungry here and you will end up with a cold sub. We ordered sandwiches paid and picked up our sandwiches after and left a heavy pony tailed woman ran up to our car and asked if we paid???! seriously we were about to pull onto the busy road out front it gets much worse after telling her of course we paid another one ran out black lady with dreadlox demanded to see a receipt crazy!!!! Avoid her at all costs bizarre behavior on numerous occasions just baffled at those of us who wish to order stuff...... Unfortunately Freshies like many other businesses on MDI cant get workers and can only get unstable inept who only last a few weeks....so sad. We are trying to figure out how people in Maine live or earn when none of them wishes to actually work?? Actually wondering that about many others areas as well we travel alot how do they make money if they dont work??? Anyway never saw adults who do not know how to make a sandwich until Freshies in Maine.Dire staffing issues here and at most other Freshies nearby.

The staff was busy but well-trained and friendly. However, the store didn’t seem to be as well stocked as it has been in the past, and it wasn't as clean and organized. Despite this, I still had an excellent visit.

I rated this restaurant one star solely because I could only give one; otherwise, it would be lower. The cleanliness of the establishment is appalling. If you look inside the case where they store sandwiches made days ago, you'll see it's not dated, and it's filled with dirt, odd liquids, hairballs, and dust, particularly around the cooler vents. Furthermore, the managers are rude and disrespectful to both employees and customers.
