Railroad Park Resort And Dining Car

I did not stay in the resort but I went to the restaurant. The service, ambiance, and food were all top-notch! There was a gentleman providing live entertainment, and needless to say, he was phenomenal! Every song was straight out of my playlist! My steak was cooked to perfection, and our server was a pro at her job! I recommend this if you are in the area!!!

We ate Father's Day brunch in the dining cars. It was the best buffet we have ever been to and we have been to a lot. Great service! Amazing views and delicious food. They even had a gentleman playing a guitar and singing and he was incredible! After brunch we rode the train and it was delightful. They truly have a little piece of heaven there!!

The staff were nice. However our waitress would disappear and not come around! I wanted to try several of their signature drinks, but couldn't cause she was nowhere to be found! She recommended shrimp and grits that tasted almost as good as New Orleans. The grits tasted like water if that is even possible and had no flavor. My wife ordered the chicken marsala and it looked amazing. But, it too had no flavor! Salt and pepper people! It was bad, I had to ask for a spoon at the bar for my grits. We were staying in the train hotel and that part was so cool. We didn't eat at the train car again, even though we originally planned to. Big let down.

We booked this for a special weekend for my hubby's birthday. We both love trains. It's about 5h drive from us and it was easy to get there. The caboose was well maintained, super clean and the bed was really comfy. Food was amazing at the restaurant...we ended up eating there both nights. The staff were professional and pleasant. We wanted for nothing during our stay! We enjoyed the town, the grounds and napped a lot. Can't wait to go again!

One of my favorite and unique stops near Shasta. I’ve stayed in a caboose (fun). I’ve stayed in the campground (peaceful). I walked the grounds (beautiful view of castle crag). I’ve stopped for a meal and to walk the dog. Always good. Always fun. Great burgers for lunch.
