Cassidy Country Kitchen - Nanaimo

They frequently visited for lunch and dinner. The food is excellent, and the staff is friendly. Prices have gone up recently, but isn't that the case everywhere? Highly recommended!

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to one of the chefs and the manager (owner) who came to my aid last week. While driving my electric car from Cobble Hill, I made a planned stop in Duncan, only to find that the charger I needed was out of order. With very little battery left, I attempted to drive to Nanaimo but had to divert to this restaurant at 9:00 PM. Feeling desperate to find an outdoor outlet to charge my battery and get home, I was on the verge of tears, especially as a woman alone in the dark. Although their outlet wasn’t a public charging station, I’m truly grateful that they allowed me to charge my car behind the restaurant that night. Thank you for helping me get home safely!

The food was decent and the prices were reasonable. However, the staff seemed very unhappy. Two of the servers didn't smile at all and were unfriendly until it was time to pay, at which point they suddenly became cheerful. A woman came out of the kitchen looking miserable and even rolled her eyes at the waitress. The decor in the dining area was fine, but overall, I probably won’t be returning.
