Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe travel to the Island every year for Easter and I am shocked that we never experienced this restaurant before. Axinos is possibly the BEST restaurant on the Island. The seafood is fresh and the prices are decent. The fried potatoes (French fries) are the best I’ve had and it’s a must have. When we are here, we had the biggest and the freshest Red Snapper. This is a must visit for travelers on the Island. If you’re in Naoussa, check this place out.
The fact that the chefs are smoking in the kitchen whilst making your food is enough to know how much they care about you. The waiters are friendly in the surface but argue heavily behind the scenes. The experience of paying by card was something like out of a Carry On movie, namely two waiters shouting at each other for 3 full minutes, their faces 2 inches apart the whole time, before one of them put the card in the machine and handed it over to me. Food is very basic/frozen (see smoking chefs above), the setting during the day is however nice. But the overall experience was a farce.
My wife and I had 'dinner ' at this tourist trap last night. The service was OK but the food was very poor. The fish she ordered was overcooked and probably 'farmed. ' My hamburger smelt burnt and did not taste good; the Greek salad was tasteless. Upon sitting down the waiter approached us with a bottle of water in hand and asked if we wanted some, which we accepted, not realising that we were going to be charged for it our fault, as we were used to having a jug of water being placed (free) on the table at most Greek restaurants. Additionally, a small dip with a handful of olives and some bread was provided, which we incorrectly assumed was free, as we did not ask for it. At the end of the 'meal ' we were offered cakes, which we refused, as we knew this would be added to the bill. However, a small cake was later provided free. The total cost of the meal was 61 Euro, which we paid for with a card preloaded with Euros. If your 'e Australian, that equates to around $104, so the dinner was highly overpriced. We should have followed our own advice and eaten at a small back street tavern and not in the touristy area. In our experience positive reviews are written by associates, friends or relatives and cannot be believed. It 's always best to read negative reviews that are constructively critical. In essence, this restaurant would do well to provide quality food for their prices and to advise customers beforehand about any charges. Avoid if you 're after good quality food, especially seafood. We feel exploited, as they wouldn 't dare serve this food to locals. Finally, unless you 're sure, ask if there 's a charge for anything placed on your table.
We had a fantastic experience at Achinos! The fresh and delicious fish, the wonderful service, and careful attention to detail including changing out wine glasses in between our selection of 2 different bottles made all of the difference for us — one of our favorite meals during our week in Greece! We didn’t find prices higher than we were used to but we were coming from Athens and Santorini so the sticker shock had already occurred. :
Great food, attentive waiter, quick prompt service and well priced. The low reviews at this place are due to unreasonable unfriendly expectations.. or from cheapskate grumps. We had a nice dry bottle of rose and a full meal for 60 euro. Sit outside if you want some cool sea air Efcharistó
