Mudd Puddle Coffee Roasters - New Paltz

It would be helpful if they inform customers that only drinks are served at this establishment. Additionally, there were mixed reviews about whether pets were allowed, but upon seeing a notice stating pets are not allowed, we decided not to even sit on the patio.

The coffee and tea at this restaurant were truly awful. Starbucks is much better in comparison. I don't see why this place has good reviews. Our group tried six different types of coffee and one type of tea, and all of them were terrible. Most of us ended up throwing away our drinks after just a few sips. The matcha latte had no flavor, and the regular lattes were bitter. The tea tasted stale.

The food was just okay, but it took a really long time for just an egg and cheese sandwich. Unfortunately, the man preparing the food on Sundays is extremely rude. While I was waiting patiently, the assistant cook accidentally gave me an egg and cheese sandwich meant for another order. The main cook snatched it from my hands without apologizing, and even rudely stated that it wasn't for me. The next egg and cheese sandwich that was made was finally mine, but the cook never apologized for the mix-up.

Cute cafe with a nice view from the back veranda. Limited countertop sitting inside. Some pastries available, no kitchen on Wednesdays. No WiFi.

I always end up going back to the Mud Puddle, not because their coffee is my favorite (though it's pretty good) but because the location is awesome and the staff is so friendly. The building is really nice to sit outside of, either in the courtyard or on their deck. The last time I was there there was a live musician performing across the street, so it was so nice to sit out on the deck and listen. Also the views from the back deck are awesome, it's one of my favorite places to relax in New Paltz. Great spot to grab a coffee before going for a walk on the nearby trails. Also love that they sell some snacks from the UK and local made brands. In general a really nice place, and I would def. recommend trying it out.
