Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónMy daughter bought me a beer tasting Groupon for Fathers Day. She was visiting from Nottingham and we decided to go together. The bar is built into the railway arches behind the Central Station and is on two floors. We had a quick drink before and found the staff extremely helpful in making our initial choice of craft ales. We went upstairs for the tasting and there were 6 of us and a very friendly knowledgeable tutor. The session was very informal and the discussion went well beyond the beers that we sampled which made for a very enjoyable time. The beers were all very different and I will never return a cloudy craft beer again they were delicious but the revelation was the sour beer which I had never previously heard of. We had an entertaining time and followed it up at the Bridge Tavern where our tutor was the brewer and tasted another of his recommendations and saw that it was also currently brewing in the tuns a good end to a pleasant evening.
We stumbled upon this tiny bar located in the arches of Newcastle and we were not disappointed. They had a great variety of craft beers, although we only had the chance to try one since they were closing. We will definitely be returning to try more in the future.
I am pleased that I found this place. I couldn't locate it on TripAdvisor so I have now added it. It was our first time visiting this bar with our friends who had been before. It is a charming little bar with a great selection of real ales. The space is cozy and compact, which we really enjoyed. It is located on a quiet street just behind the main road, down from the railway station off through the tunnel on the right. Definitely worth a visit.
Voucher given for beer tasting experience as Christmas experience from one of our daughters. Best Xmas present ever! Fab location. Close to central Newcastle and you hear the rumbling of the trains overhead which add to the ambience. You get to try 5 very different beers with tasting notes. Portions very decent. Moreover the information that comes with the tasting is informative and well paced. We learnt a lot in a very relaxed two hours. The lovely Leo is full of enthusiasm and knowledge and answers any questions with experience. Great relaxed environment where you feel welcome (you could go solo! , enjoy trying new beers (we had never heard of ‘sours’ DELICIOUS! and learn something not to mention stay on for a few more beers afterwards. Friendly knowledgable staff. Clean loos. What more would you want!
We attended a guided beer tasting at the restaurant. For £15 for two people, we were able to try 5 different beers and also learn about the history of beer and the brewing process for different styles. Our group included approximately 14 people. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. The restaurant is cozy and located in the historic railway arches near Central Station. The atmosphere featured great music, helpful staff, and a wide variety of beers on tap and in bottles. Additionally, the restaurant allows dogs.
