I would call it more of a chicken donut sandwich. So when I heard about this I had to find it the hype online had me excited to try it, I really wanted to love it. A lot of people refer to it as the luther, because this is supposedly Luther Vandross favorite way to eat his chicken and doughnuts. The donut was boring, I expected itto be somewhat like Krispy Kreme. It was bland and flavorless. It was soaked in glaze which was ok but a sweeter bread would have been better. The chicken tender inside was delicious though, like all KFC chicken. I took the sandwich out ofthe Box and set it on the table, there is even glaze on the bottom of the parchment paper and I left a huge mess. I got glaze all over my hands, phone case, table, shirt, pretty much everywhere. This was not fun to eat.I get the visionwhich is awesome but I think the execution and delivery was all wrong. My search will continue for the perfect donut Burger.I know a lot of people in previous reviews said service was slow here at this location. Although my meal was out inless than 5 minutes others were waiting over 20 minutes because of mis management. People were just kind of moving around not doing anything while 2 employees were busting their humps. I still love KFC, no matter where you go the service isalways meh , I 'm sure the Coloniel is not happy about it god rest his soul.
I have never been a fan of KFC but daughter LOVES it and wants it almost weekly. I have been coming to this KFC for about 7 years and the food and service just keeps going down! As the PERFECT example I just came through the drive-thru as she wanted four original drumsticks (legs). This is what they gave me. She said that it didn't look like original I went back in and they REFUSED to change it out. Mind you, this is the KFC that she first ever ate KFC from and where shenormally gets her KFC. She is a legs in original recipe girl, as in all she ever orders is Legs in Original Recipe, Wedges (until they were discontinued) and a medium Sweet Tea; on average twice a month for almost 7 years. So when she tellsme that it doesn't look or taste right I take her word! As for service... last spring the cashier/order taker let me know that it was cheaper to buy a combo and customize it to only have legs. A few months later a supervisor told me I wasno longer allowed to customize the combo and that if I wanted only legs that I would have to pay for them individually. At other locations I can customize without any issues. If you want GOOD KFC I recommend going anywhere but here.
I live in this area and I have eaten here lots. It used to be a good restaurant but it has gone way down hill. We ordered our food and they didn't have half of what we wanted. I understand because of food shortages but the food we got was awful. Chicken sandwiches were hard and tasted like they had been cooked for a while. The only thing good w that was the bun. We also go a chicken bowl and there was hardly anything in it. Not worth the $8. I will not go back here again. Iwas giving them another chance but it hasn't gotten any better. If you do go here and get drive-thru or takeout make sure you check your order. They frequently don't put all your order in the bag.
I have lost faith in KFC over the years, and I only went to this one because Hardee's lobby was closed and I was in a semi. But her food was excellent! It was like the old KFC. Apparently, a great team should be sent here to train other restaurants!
