It's sugary, over sauced and a boring mix of unoriginal and unorthodox. While I'm not a fan of western take on sushi as a general rule, I can appreciate some of the quirks and innovations. This would be the McDonald's of Sushi. Sweet Chilli sauce, Overly Mayo, cheap Soy. Limited selection. Sure, it's fine, you can eat it and it's ok, but you're neither getting an experience, or anything to remember. And it's certainly not a clean, fresh vibe you'll hope for sushi to be in a city like Sydney. Service could do with a boost too. Maybe there is a menu, I surely didn't see it.
After walking around for 10 mins in increasing frustration, I made a hasty purchase from Little Tokyo, a Japanese take-away and sushi train lunch venue inside Greenwood Plaza. My mixed sushi box cost $7.5 and came with 8 sliced pieces – 2 pieces each of tuna, crab sticks, raw salmon, and chicken schnitzel. The rice wasn’t pack very tightly around fillings and almost fell apart as soon as the chopsticks picked it up. The flavours were standard at best - Tuna was nice but chicken was very dry and bland. North Sydney continues to disappoint on the lunch front. thernbdiary.com
As with all $3.5 per plate sushi train, the size of the individual sushi pieces are very small (so that you'll have to eat more plates to fill up). The quality of the food are good, and you'll find most of the usual suspects on the train. The place was busy for workday lunch, and I got the last spot on the train, so people behind me had to wait for a spot. They also have takeaway packs for those who hasn't got time to eat on the train. Overall a solid sushi option for the area.
I love sushi so I love this place. It's always busy and the food is always fresh and yummy. You can have a takeaway or eat at the sushi train.
Great Quality, Fast service. Whether your looking for take out, or a sit in and dine at at the sushi train, the options are plenty.<br/ <br/ Great Value, awesome quality and handy for those days you don't know what to have when your time poor, its always there as a healthy option.
