Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónLast night, my wife and I had dinner at Happy Hour Tavern, and we really enjoyed our experience. The restaurant has a charming northern vibe with a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. We were warmly greeted and seated right away, just before the dinner rush began. Our server was friendly and provided helpful insights about the menu. While the menu isn't particularly accommodating for gluten-free diners, there are a couple of options that can be modified, including the smoked pork chop, which my wife absolutely loved. She even described it as "succulent." I ordered the fried walleye fillets, and they were excellent as well. The music, food, and service were all top-notch! Treat yourself to a visit here—you won't regret it.
If you choose the fresh fish, you’re in for a treat. Everything was served piping hot, which we really appreciated. However, there are no chicken wings or pizza on the menu. The service was excellent. The interior has a somewhat run-down feel and lacks proper ventilation. The deck area looks fantastic, but it’s only open for lunch—hopefully, that changes when the place gets busier. Initially, we almost walked out, but our first impression was completely turned around by the outstanding service and the quality of the food. Please consider opening the deck for dinner!
During our first visit to the area, we dined at this restaurant, and it truly set a high standard for our trip! Approaching the place in the dark, it resembled a cozy residential cabin. Once inside, we were warmly welcomed by a local at the bar who cheerfully shouted, "Hello, welcome!" Her enthusiasm assured us that we were in for a great experience. With several large families dining around us, it was another positive sign, so we found a table and our waitress promptly attended to us. Each of us ordered different items from the menu, and everything was excellent—though I still can’t stop thinking about the spinach salad! The ambiance of the cabin was inviting, and even though we visited during a snowstorm, there seemed to be a unique charm about the place that would appeal in any season. The service was swift, the staff was friendly, the food was delightful, and we can’t wait to return!
Great little spot with friendly staff and quality food. I had the walleye special dinner with sweet potato fries and green beans, all delicious! Inside the restaurant was a little hot for me, but it was mostly old folks in there, so they need it warm.
Old school supper club sort of place. If you'd like a fish fry and some beers, here's your place. Food was pretty good, straightforward and honest. Beer selection was pretty good.
