Lil John's Sweetreat Ice Cream Parlor

We came back for a second visit, and I indulged in a banana split with the Banana Pudding ice cream—it was just as delicious as I remembered! My husband opted for the Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae with the Peanut Butter Butterfinger ice cream, and he enjoyed that even more than just having scoops of ice cream.

On Friday night at 9 PM, the line extended out to the street, so we assumed it must be worth it. They make their ice cream from milk sourced from grass-fed cows in North Carolina. There are several flavors available, along with options for cups, cones, splits, sundaes, and milkshakes. The line moved quickly, and our orders were ready by the time we finished taking pictures with the mascot sign. We can't wait to come back for another treat before our vacation ends!

Fantastic ice cream with lots of options. Line was long but it went very quick and the workers were very nice. Well worth the trip from Holden Beach if you need to get away one night.

This is the best ice cream I've ever tasted! It's made fresh every day with local milk, and they constantly introduce new flavors. Their sorbets are delicious as well! The prices are reasonable. Be sure to try the chocolate cake sundae—it's huge and perfect for sharing, priced at just $6.50. My favorite flavors so far are Coffee Oreo, Champagne Mango, and Peach Tea Sorbet.

We literally eat ice cream here a minimum of 5 times during our week stay at OKI. It's the best ice cream we've had, my husband loves the banana pudding and gets it EVERY time. I try different flavors each time. The butterfinger was fantastic. You must go here of you're at Oak Island.
