Tamis Cafe - Ottawa

I've got chickenadobo, it's been boneless, and secondly very scanned. I think there were only 4 or 5 pieces of chicken breast. For the price I expected a full meal, but that was more like a snack. Left hungry.

I never thought I could ever find pancit like Mom and find what I did at Tamis Cafe. The service was friendly and helpful with its recommendations. The atmosphere is casual and the prices are just right. I recommend this place, especially the bbq...pork spits and, of course, the pancite.

I had a fantastic experience at this Filipino restaurant's brunch service. The staff were attentive and the ambiance was lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

My wife and I wanted to try this Filipino restaurant we'd heard about in Ottawa, so while visiting the city we hunted it down. It's located on Bank street but we had to park several blocks away (that's the nature of parking on Bank street...in general). The outside of the place is very understated. There is a menu posted outside and this is the only thing that really indicates this is a Filipino Restaurant. (I'd like to see more signage advertising the Filipino aspect of the place). We walked in and were immediately greeted and seated by the window by a very nice man. He got us drinks and menus. The menu looks good it's fairly short but has some great looking stuff on it, along with pictures. We ordered an appetizer to share (Sisig).The posted specials looked good and the food another group ordered looked really good too. The atmosphere of the place is pretty relaxed but nice for a romantic meal too. Our food came and it looked (and smelled) great! It was a sizzling cast iron skillet full of chopped potatoes, onion, an egg, and pig ears, with seasonings. It also came with excellent garlic pita bread and rice. It was very good, and even better once we put a little lemon on it! Portion size was enough to satisfy us (we were looking for a snack, not a meal). The service was excellent and the food very good (homemade). I would come back again and sample more of the menu. They also sell wonderful looking cakes see the website for pictures. I would recommend this place highly.
