Hokkaido Restaurant Japonais - Paris

Nothing special about the place. Food is ok, drinks fresh. Ambiance is flat and music just pop radio. Well, the only great point is the location. However, nothing negative to raise about the restaurant.

醤油ラーメン、味噌ラーメン、塩ラーメンはあるが、とんこつ味はない。味はまずくないが、美味しいとは言えない。餃子の皮は厚くて、冷凍餃子の方が美味しいぐらい。 There are taste of Soy Sauce, Miso and Salt but no Tonkotsu (pork bone broth) Ramen. Not bad taste but not good enough as Ramen special restaurant. Thick skin of Gyoza, probably frozen Gyoza sold at the supermarket may be better taste.

This is a little leftfield, but my wife and I were in Paris and we could not resist eating Sushi for dinner one night. Hokkaido was stylish and the mood lighting inside was wonderful. Our order from the Menu was the sharing DUO option which was presented to our table in a miniature wooden boat and consisted of the following; 2 Asahi 33 cl beers, 2 soups, 2 salads, 2 rice, 16 assorted sashimi, 12 maki (6 salmon, tuna 6), 8 sushi (2 salmon, 2 tuna, 2 dorado, 2 shrimp). We also had Saki that we thoroughly enjoyed. I would happily go back again when in Paris.

The yakitori grilled meat and fish. The grilled chicken was good so were the pot stickers or grilled dumplings which were more Chinese style than Japanese. The tuna and salmon were on the overdone scale and not succulent. Not all the seafood tasted extremely fresh. Miso soup on the watery side. Service reliable and tried to be helpful. Quick service and turnaround although this was 630 in the evening!
