Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican - Payson

Cafe Rio is always very spotty. This location was very disappointing. Steak was old and burnt. Tasted like stale jerky. Portions were very small and the order was wrong.

I am honestly really sad to be making this review. The steak quesadilla with the side salad and a side of house dressing is definitely on my top 3 favorite meals from anywhere! However, the last 4 times I have ordered from this location I have been completely dissatisfied and disappointed with not only the food, but the service as well. Tonight was the last time I'll be ordering from this location... steak was burned and crunchy, cheese wasn't even melted, side salad was missing Pico and Guacamole and every single sauce that was requested and paid for was forgotten. For a $20 entree, completely not worth it. Really really sad. Will be ordering from Costa Vida exclusively from here on out.

I am a Cafe Rio fan but this location is AWFUL. It took forever to get our food, all the employees have a “don’t care” attitude and the quesadillas were burnt. Would never stop here again.

Hey guys. Great food. But step up the service. We just literally waited almost 30 mins in the drive thru. And inside the store. 2-3 customers.So what’s going on. Are the owners at home smoking weed. Or what. Come on management!!!! Maybe offer better wages. IDK.But with Costa Vida and a couple other competitors at your back door.Time to step it up and raise the bar.Foods ? a great. Make it so your customers can enjoy it. So they’re not sitting in line with they’re stomachs grumbling.

Came at 10pm 1 hour before the restaurant closes. We were on our way home from a long road trip and looking forward to eating something after a long drive. The entire place had been cleaned up already and all the food was put away. When we asked if they were open the employee slammed his hands down in anger and walked to the back of the restaurant, where everyone was eating Menchies. Another employee mentioned they were open, so we got our 4 kids out of the van. We don’t make a habit of eating out late with our kids, but sometimes road trips go like that. When we went to order the same employee who slammed his hands down said “we’re out of that” after everything we tried to order. He mocked us on our way out the door. Horrible customer service. I one starred the food because they didn’t have any and clearly were not interested in serving us. Highly recommend not going here after 10 pm.*Editing to add that we ended up going to the University Avenue location in Provo and had an exact opposite experience. Worth the drive if you’re choosing which location to go to.
