This place substitutes items on the menu when they ruin out without notifying the customer. For a greek place, they made a 'greek' salad with iceberg lettuce. The menu is way over priced and the selections are often 'not available' due to lack of ingredients. Was a complete let down for a newer establishment in town.
My boyfriend and I attempted to go here the week it opened, but the owner met us in the doorway, and told us they couldn't take any more guests, as the cooks were tired. It was about 8 on a Friday evening, so I can understand that. She said to come back next week and she would give us a free appetizer. We went back about 2 weeks later, excited for a new place to eat... The service was very slow, there were errors in the menu (we ordered beef souvlaki just to be told that was not something they made, though it was on the menu. We ended up ordering Chicken Souvlaki, which was ok, I had tzatsiki with pita, and potato, and the tzatziki was good, but my boyfriend had hummus with his, and it was very bland. not good at all. For an appetizer we shared saganaki (flaming cheese) which was AMAZING, For dessert, we ordered baklava, whuch was disappointing; I have had far better elsewhere. These things may have been partly because they were new, but I am not sure we will be back... for the price, what we got in terms of service and food, was just not worth it.
A friend of mine and I went for supper. The service was much to be desired. After waiting forever we found out that the kitchen staff did not show up so there was a delay. after waiting an hour and half we asked if our meal was started as we were leaving. we found out that they did not even start it yet.
My husband and I thought we would try out this newly opened restaurant on Saturday. We arrived around 7:15 pm and the restaurant was very busy so we were not very optimistic that we would even be able to get a table. Surprisingly we were seated within ten minutes of our arrival which was fantastic. The restaurant was bright and nicely decorated. The tables and chairs looked brand new and were very comfortable. Spacing between tables was generous, allowing privacy. However, the restaurant was very noisy. Distractingly so. My husband and I had to talk quite loudly in order to hear each other. After we were seated, it took quite a long time before any wait staff came over to our table. The restaurant was busy, so that was understandable and we didn't need to be anywhere else so the wait was okay. We ordered drinks which were served up right away and we placed our order. We decided on a large Gus' Pizza. We waited for what seemed like forever for our pizza to be served. When it finally did arrive it looked delicious. It was very good. Lots of toppings and cheese. A bit more pizza sauce on it would have made it perfect. The crust was delicious. After being served our pizza the waitress never returned to re-fill our water or even ask if we would like another beverage. After finishing our meal we waited and waited for someone to attend our table to take away our plates and wrap up our leftovers. We were ready to leave by this time as the noise level was getting uncomfortable and decided not to order dessert. Mind you I don't think we were even asked if wanted any dessert. On Sunday, I returned to this restaurant with a girlfriend as we were getting together for dinner and a movie and she was wanting to try this restaurant. I arrived around 5:30 PM and the restaurant was not too busy. I was seated immediately and I waited for my friend to arrive. Again I noted how terribly noisy it was. Some kind of sound proofing would make all the difference in there. I could barely hear the background music. Service was very good this time around with the wait staff being very attentive. However, the meal was extremely disappointing. We ordered the Spanikopita (sp?) as a starter. It was mushy and had no flavor. I ordered the half lasagna as my main. It looked very good. The baked cheese on top was yummy, but the actual lasagna was flavorless and watery. Where's the sauce??? I ordered the garlic toast which is extra and it was literally a slice of white toasted sandwich bread, slathered in butter and chopped garlic. It was terrible! I don't think I've ever been served garlic toast that way. My friend was not overly impressed with her meal either, she had the baked donair, but she did say her side salad was very good.I will probably try this restaurant again after it's been opened for a while longer. Sometimes it just takes a little time for a new business to work out all the kinks. I will however be ordering pizza take out.
