We discovered this restaurant while searching online for a fun spot with great food and drinks before heading to see Stephen Ashbrook at The Last Exit Live, and it definitely exceeded our expectations! The staff, drinks, and food were all impressive. I tried the Vegan Scallops made from mushrooms, and they were fantastic—packed with flavor! The establishment has a quaint, charming vibe and holds historical significance in Phoenix. Although it’s surrounded by taller, modern buildings, I believe that only enhances its appeal by preserving a piece of the past amid the new. I sincerely hope they continue to thrive and keep this delightful gem alive for many years to come!
This is a cozy hidden gem in downtown that we thoroughly enjoyed. Although the space is small (it's a former residence), it doesn't feel overly cramped. My brother-in-law claimed it was the best steak he had ever tasted. The wine menu features some intriguing blends, though I regretted not being able to enjoy any since I was driving! Just a heads-up: since it’s downtown, we were fortunate to find parking right behind the building, as I'm not sure where else we could have parked. Our server was very professional and genuinely seemed to enjoy taking care of us.
10 out of 10! Everything, from the moment we arrived until we left, was absolutely perfect. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, working seamlessly together. As everyone suggested, you absolutely have to try the dates—they're amazing! We also had the burrata, which was incredibly fresh and creamy. The cocktails were delicious too! I had the whiskey smash, while my date opted for the spicy Paloma, and both were fantastic. For dinner, we ordered the pork belly and petite steak. The pork belly was so tender it practically melted in my mouth, and the petite steak was cooked to absolute perfection at medium rare. It was actually larger than the petite cuts I usually encounter! I only wish we had saved room for dessert, but we left feeling satisfied and happy. Plus, the ever-changing menu keeps things exciting. We will definitely be back!
My visit to Farish House Restaurant was absolutely delightful. This cozy, family-owned bistro offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately sets the tone. We kicked off the evening with two expertly crafted cocktails—the Manhattan and the Old Fashioned—paired with delicious olives as appetizers. The side salads, while simple, were bursting with flavor, and the fish of the day served over lentils and fresh asparagus was a culinary treat. The combination of excellent drinks, delightful dishes, and the restaurant's welcoming ambiance makes Farish House a must-visit gem in the heart of the city. I would have given it 5 stars if our service hadn't been interrupted by a staff meeting during our meal.
