Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónFirst time here, food was great, I had a prime rib French dip that was really good. Hubby had the fish n chips and he said they were good to. Great waitress sat outside, and it was fun. I would of gave it 5 stars but the metal chairs outside were really uncomfortable.
We had so much fun here for lunch today! Outdoor area is huge and would be so fun on the weekend I imagine. Large deck area over looking the lower level, stage and third bar. Just wish the canvas cover kept out rain in addition to the sun! There are a few tables under the overhang, and the second bar. Allison took great care of us even with switching tables multiple times (to avoid the huge thunderstorm that came through) and the lunch rush! Wine burger (still not sure about that wine) was delicious. We asked for crispy fries and crispy bacon and got both! Loved that they put three pieces of bacon while some places are skimping on things like that. Great lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle on top! Yummy dill pickles, not the sweet ones. Fish and chips were very tasty and flakey too! The vegetarian in our group got the grilled cheese with green chiles and loved it. Also, two of us requested the crispy fries and they didn't automatically make the third's crispy. Chefs were certainly on point with specific directions- thanks! Will be back for sure!
We came in out of the rain close to 1pm on a Friday. Two other tables came in after us and got beverages placed and orders given before we had to wrangle someone to talk to us. When we asked if the person was our server, they spoke to another server who said: I know, they 'just ' came in . (Lie . After a third person took our order, we waited for water that never came. We wrangled another server (who asked how we were doing into getting us a water. This loud mouthed human asked us if we could serve ourselves at the water station? or if we really wanted her to bring us one, she would. We then said yes, I would like you to bring a water. The waitress with frizzy, long brown hair (which we all hoped never got into the food said I have been fired before when she was told that she was fired by us when she forgot to bring us the water. She then promptly started talking to another table loudly (her only octave and started talking inappropriately to the other customers while forgetting our water some more. We finally took her advice and got our own water...because we were thirsty. We waited almost a half hour for our rubber and stiff fish and chips and the salad came five minutes later...the burger was good (hence the 1 star . Loud mouthed untamed hair waitress came by and said: I am assuming that since you have your food, you guys are all doing okay? (no, we just didnt want to talk with you anymore. She then started singing loudly and said she did the karaoke on Wednesdays here. (Maybe she should quit her day job? It took us about another half hour to wait for our checks-no staff anywhere-not even at the bar... this person was apologizing to other tables for her behavior and there were several other tables that came after us that hadn 't had anyone take their beverage orders either. A couple of regulars said: I want the check now, I am not kidding this time. And no hair net apologized to them as well. For a bar and grill that has a sign: no sniveling they sure do snivel a lot. Also, don 't give people a reason to snivel, because we were on vacation and That 's not good for digestion...
This is a great place to grab some food and drink right on White Mountain boulevard as you're heading out of town in Pine Top. This is for sure a local's favorite and people come here for music and dancing. Of the options in the area, this one for sure ranks in the tops. They have great appetizers and cocktails and although you could call them a restaurant, they have that down home bar feeling. It's just a great stop after you're done hunting, fishing, or just playing up in the woods for the day. If you're camping at any of the local lakes in the area like Fool's Hollow or Hawley Lake, take a break and come up and get some chow. You must get tired of making your own food and everybody needs a solid cocktail. Hamburger Helper and Denty Moore Stew grow weary after days. Jay and his wife are proprietors here. They run a great establishment and are well respected by the locals. I recommend making a stop here when passing through Pine Top or Lakeside. #irishcatv2
I love the White Mountains, but there are few places that I would eat at if the were transplanted in the Valley of the Surface of the Sun, but the Lion 's Den is one of them. We swing by every time we roll into town. The wings and the Prime Rib Dip are my Go To when in the Den. The drinks and atmosphere are as amazing. #DukeOfEats
