Charming little restaurant, tucked away near the river Etel. There were lots of tables outside, in sun or shade and plenty of tables inside the restaurant. The WC had hot water, soap and paper for hand-drying. Everything was clean.. We were welcomed by a very pleasant lady, who spoke some English. The chef was charming and was pleased to tell us what the delicious sauce for the gambas contained. The older lady serving was a bit dour, but could be made to smile!Service was efficient and cheerful.We both had a good local beer and a plate of the best gambas ever, with a small salad and excellent frites., followed by myrtille tart and ice cream.We were given large linen table napkins, neatly rolled, in a basket with lemon scented wipes, and when we had finished the gambas it was pointed out to us that there was hot water in the toilette, necessary after our enthusiastic demolition of the gambas. Fresh bread was served and we were asked if we wanted butter( a first, but not needed). We have been staying nearby for over two weeks, and wish that we had discovered this treasure earlier. Next year......
We came to lunch on a Sunday noon with family at the old passage, and we were very well received. Managers are very nice, and the dishes are really good. I took the sardine carpaccio which is a delight, there was a small piece of delicious smoked fish and the owner explained to us that he smoked it himself, what we enjoyed a lot. My mother ordered the gambas that are very good, special mention for the sauce that was excellent! for dessert, we tasted the shotamisu with salt butter caramel, it was very good and original. Anyway, a great time and we're going to go back soon.
A small restaurant without pretension in the shade of large trees, family welcome, delicious fresh food, very good meal - we will return to it -
