Granny's Chicken & Grill - Port Alberni

The last couple times I have ordered their pizza's I have not been disappointed. I find their crust is perfect and not very greasy. The portion sizes here are big. Ordered a three piece chicken dinner and it sure was fries galore. Chicken was yummy, only wish is is that chicken was more crispy.

The service is good and food has large potions and the coleslaw is delicious. You can sit in the restaurant or take out is the usual for the locals.

Great fried chicken, hot and fresh! Open late! Friendly staff and a varied menu. Will definitely be back!

What a waste of time and money. Being new years day the options were few and we thought we'd treat the kids with pizza. They didn't mind the super greasy pizza but complained that the toppings were buried under the cheese. Are we having a cheese crust on top of bland gobs of pepperoni with a boring, tasteless sauce? Yes. Lots of cheese? Yes, its only saving grace. Hubby ordered butter chicken which he said was ok, but the price was not so fun. Came with a "garden salad" that we all took one bite of and recoiled in horror. Pushed it to the end of the table and the unenthused cashier asked if he was done with it. When he replied he was done she said quietly in a resigned voice "no, people don't really eat it." Then why are you serving it?? It was revolting! It must be the same salad recycled for each customer that doesn't eat it! A teriyaki burger was more bun than chicken, but aside from the canned sauce the meat itself was good. Sister had chicken fingers that were overcooked with a mound of fries identical to mine: soggy, limp, unsatisfying, unflavourful. The gravy was a floury abomination of texture and flavour. If Gordon Ramsey had been here he would've thrown up his hands and stalked out shaking his head. We've lived in this town for 2 years now, I think it's time to change your misleading sign that has never changed in at least 2 years we've been here that says voted best pizza to "some people we know don't mind eating here". I will never waste my money here again.

I ordered the chicken dinner. The chicken and the fries tasted of stale old grease. I was not able to eat it.
