Chef Arran Stark is a local celebrity for good reason! Top quality ingredients are consistently prepared in exquisite and creative combination. Excellent food. Dinner for under $10 anyone?
I've eaten here a few times. The last time was about two weeks ago when a few of us from my building accompanied a neighbor to the hospital for a visit. Since it's not a typical restaurant with a variety of items on the menu, we all had the same thing spaghetti with meat sauce. That was delicious. I also had a bowl of vegetable soup which, unfortunately, I could've saved money on by just pouring myself a bowl of water. Yeah. It was that bland. The price was right, though. One standout of Garden Row is the price of breakfast. Real cheap. BTW, if you're a senior, you do get a 10% discount, but you have to ask for it at the register. It's not automatic. Also, their open and close window is fairly narrow, something like 11am to 1:30pm, so plan accordingly.
We had a salad bar meal fresh and very good with lots of choices. The pork/kale soup was outstanding, and even better when adding a teaspoon of McIlheny's green hot sauce. The only disappointment was the chicken breast on the chicken Caesar main offering; it was quite dry and lacking taste. Not unusual, and we were eating toward the end of the lunch hour, so there's some excuse. Still . . . I think having a bowl of the soup would have been just a great lunch on its own. Great selection of healthy juices and drinks that are hard to find in town. Total price for the Caesar, a healthy salad bar bowl, a cup of soup, a pricey ginger lemonade, and a coffee was a shade under $18. Not bad for two.
Best restaurant in a hospital, grows their own fruits and vegetables. Best, tastiests meals!
