Pizzeria Da Giancarlo - PULA

What a shame! The food was great but the service ruined our experience. We were recommended this place by a local for the seafood, which we couldn 't fault. However, we have never experienced such rude and appaling treatment by a waiter in all our 30 year dining experience. When I kindly (in the only Italian I know) told him we only spoke English, he was clearly annoyed and the following ensued. Our antipasti came in two stages, first cold then warm. When the warm dishes arrived, he started clearing our cold dishes away to make room, even though we hadn 't finished and there was still food on the plates! When we ordered our second bottle of wine he didn 't even let my husband taste it to check if it was corked . He just poured the glasses, spilling half over the table and leaning over my husband to serve the whole table instead of respecting his personal space and of course the covid rules of keeping distance. This made us all very uncomfortable. We had very much underestimated how much food we would get with the seafood antipasti and had also ordered side dishes with our main course. My husband is Italian so kindly asked him in Italian if it was still possible to cancel the sides. He snapped at my husband what do you want! ? then after hearing his request again just turned around and walked away without comment. Our mains came, still with one of the sides, which we returned to the kitchen. We were not offered dessert menus, coffee and grappa came, one filled clearly more than the other. All this does not even begin to describe the rudeness and unfriendliness of this man. Nothing about our experience with him was welcoming and hospitable. The other two wait staff that served us were both kind but this man commanded the room with his presence. We payed the bill, 180 euros for three, so not cheap and left. After leaving the building and standing outside wondering what had just happened, we were all a bit perplexed. I went back inside and asked him kindly if we had done something wrong? His answer was no, he was just busy. I explained we felt we were treated rudely but he offered no apology, just again saying he was just busy. I said OK, ciao and we will never return.

This is not a fancy place but it's authentic and welcoming. No need to go for 4 courses, which is great with kids in tow. Huge selection of delicious pizza, local dishes and pasta. The prawn and salmon pasta was astoundingly good as was their house wine. We watched our pizza be made and cooked too. We ate her twice during our 1 week holiday and would definitely go back again.

Siamo stati in questo ristorante due volte e in entrambe le occasioni la cucina era grande e il servizio altrettanto, il personale preparato e attento. consigliato!

Sono a Pula per una mini vacanza e per due volte ho cenato in questo ristorante. Ottima cucina, personale veloce, organizzato e gentilissimo. Un grazie speciale a Paola e Veronica che ci hanno accolte e consigliato con professionalità ed estrema gentilezza. Il locale non è elegante ma la cucina e l’accoglienza che ricevi sicuramente prevalgono sul resto.
