Broccoli tasteless and not warm. 300.00 tab for 2 ppl with 4 cocktails and dessert. Cream brulet was dense not creamy. Was seated in a corner without a view. Not returning.
Our dinner at Char, in Red Bank, was our first time there. We ate outside because we are still not doing indoor restaurant dining. Our table, on the sidewalk alongside the building, had regular chairs. There are also a few tables in the street with backless benches. This section of Broad Street is closed to traffic during the summer, which makes dining outside really pleasant and enabled us to avoid the loud music being played inside. Important to us is that we were able to reserve the outdoor table on Open Table. We were pleased with our food: jumbo shrimp cocktail, lamb lollipops, steak (prepared precisely to our specification) with au poivre sauce, potato gratin, and ice cream. Service was friendly and attentive. We will be back.
As always, an incredible experience. Top notch service, incredible wine list and steaks to die for!
I'm not a very rich man. I'm just a blue collar worker who took a chance on a restaurant that quite possibly could of been overpriced and under delicious. Not only was I blown away by dinner but the service was immaculate. For a Saturday night in Red Bank not only did my server Anthony check on us multiple times, but his recommendations were akin to asking God what I should eat. After complimenting the meal Phil the executive chef came out and greeted me with a wonderful disposition. I'm no VIP but the mere thought of a compliment made this top tier chef come out and speak to me. His obvious passion for cooking made him happy to hear my compliments. Then Rich the assistant supervisor showed up and offered his thanks for my compliments. I have never had this level service ever and with the food being as good as it was. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Come and enjoy top tier food and even better service. It takes a team to make a great dining experience. Anthony, Rich, Phil have spearheaded my magical evening. Thank you Char!
We went into Char in Red Bank on a Saturday night with friends, I had a cosmopolitan which was delicious, ordered filet mignon and lobster tail with sides , everything was outstanding, also had desserts. I love this restaurant! Would definitely recommend
