Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónLittle Nickel is more like a silver dollar. Small place, big on charm, flavor and menu options. While the menu is not overly expansive, it adeptly takes you anywhere you want to go in terms of a dining experience. We had chicken nachos, octopus tostadas, Siam salad w a burger(perfectly cooked, the juices came out as I cut into it) and a cod sandwich with amazing fries. Topped it off with a coconut cream pie. Texture, flavor, great eclectic mix up. Everything was wonderful, they know what they’re doing. I could have stayed in appetizer section and been hugely satisfied. The seating is cozy, so you may feel compelled to talk with your neighbors as we did. Very nice sense of community which we need so much in these divided times. Plus, you could see what neighbors were trying. I was perusing the food coming out of the kitchen and I honestly would have eaten anything that I saw. It must be happening, I even saw one of the owners of Lucy’s restaurant(another of our favorites) standing in line to be seated as We left. Definitely worth the trip if you live across the river or in far west end. It’s great to see our restaurant scene continue to blossom as RVA becomes more an more of a foodie town. Definitely will return!
4 of us arrived and they said it would be an hour wait. No way the wait took an hour! The time flew by, they seated us. The food was deliciously creative! The portions were quite healthy! The price is very reasonable. I give the food and the atmosphere a 5, of all the staff we encountered, everyone was very friendly. I would give our server a 3.5 to a 4. She had a slightly cold attitude (my guests agreed about our server). Then again the restaurant was busy, maybe she was a little overwhelmed. My experience was a 5 overall! I will be back, the food was delicious and like I said, over all the staff was very welcoming!
Great atmosphere and delicious food and drinks. I had dinner with a party of 4. Everyone got something different, and no one was disappointed with the food/libations. The service was great. It's a small busy place so be prepared there might be a wait, but that's a product of being so damn good. So order a drink and kick back on the patio. I'd definitely recommend this place to friends and plan on going again.
Best restaurant in the area for sure. Cozy, warm atmosphere with amazing food. Nickel burger is the best burger I've ever had, perfectly cooked and just a wonderful mix of spicy and sweet and savory. Lumpia is an absolute must. By my reckoning, this is a place you cannot afford to miss.
Updated: Even Though the power went out, Little Nickel was a great experience. The bar is beautiful and the bartenders seemed friendly, the cocktail i got had a banana shaped into a dolphin with a a maraschino in its mouth, it was pretty tasty, esthetically pleasing. overall, check this place out, its worth it.
