We finally found parking, went inside, the place is pretty big with lots of seatings. We got there at 7pm, one person in front of us, so we were seated fairly quickly. Only being opened for a few days, our server did an amazing job. She knew all the specials, with the amount of tables she had to serve, she came by to our table to check up on us every 10 mins or so. Even the managers came by tables several times to see how everyone was doing. We started off with the bang bang shrimp, I've only had this dish one other time at Bonefish and thought it was supposed to be more mayo based? But I actually liked it, because it wasn't an abundance of mayo, kind of reminds me of thai chili sauce. Wished the shrimp were a little bigger, but the man told me bang bang shrimp is usually done with smaller shrimp. I got 2 dozen oysters, they were medium in size. Okay, I'm weird, I like medium sized oysters because I leave it to slightly cure in the lemon for 10mins, and I feel like it penetrates and cures faster. He got the basket, I didn't try any, because he said it was small. I agree it wasn't much, but it was also only $17. I think most places that we've gotten the fried platters it was at least $23+. He just said batter needs slightly more seasoning. All his seafood was cooked perfectly other than the fish, it was dry. I think this place is probably good for steamed seafood, I'll definitely be back for that!
We really enjoyed our food and the experience. My family liked their cajun shrimp pasta, i didn't care for it but I liked my crab cakes, shrimp, and dip. We'll definitely be back because they actually know how to treat customers. Some of the other so-called high end establishments could take a page from their note book. My only concern would be that the cook maybe left a few items on the grill too long. It looks worse on the pic but it actually tasted pretty good.
The taste of the beach, without the drive. We were greeted by several staff who were not ours. Food delivered by the manager, who I saw cleaning up tables and throwing away trash. Seems like the place is really trying, and they did well with everything we had. We will return for sure.
Delicious seasoning. I had the blackened whitefish and fried okra with a side of coconut shrimp the person who was with me had the grilled shrimp.... We liked it.
