The staff are very friendly and try to be helpful but there is a language difficulty if you have limited Italian as they have even more limited English and most communication seemed to be by gestures. We were more than happy to have pizza as we had heard that the family who run the place were from Naples so the pizza was authentic Napolitana we have had the best pizza ever whilst staying in Naples but whilst the menu included other items pasta dishes etc. it wasn't clear whether they were available that night and we noticed that all the other diners who seemed to be locals only appeared to have pizza. Having said that the pizzas we chose were extremely good at least my Quattro Stagione was , quite large, good crust consistency and none of the overpowering tomato sauce base that you often get. We also had a very good bottle of white wine and the bill was only Eur 36. The other minor issue is that the dining room is something of a cross between a restaurant and a shop, so there are display cabinets breaking up the space which may give privacy from other diners but also means that it is hard to catch the eye of the waiter if you need something.
If you are looking for that particular Italian charme and taste, that of a family business where any of your needs is regarded as sacred being this travelling related or not, this is definitely the place not to miss. A bit of genuine Naples in the middle of north western Italy where everything from the pizza to the very refined breakfast (lovely little cream bomboloni , cappuccino in the glass, a plate of fresh fruits like in Mumbai or Ho Chi Minh... is clearly offered with a deep sense of hospitality. Very practical accomodation are the appartamenti if you are travelling with your children or with friends : actually very cosy suites finely equipped. And a very unique source of help if your trip unfortunately went wrong (like having a gear box broken on the motorway nearby... .
