Reserved a table a couple of hours in advance and we were seated in the library. Very comfortable surroundings. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Menu suited us and for the quality of food served we felt was very reasonable. Definitely on our list for a return visit.
Sunday lunch the food was excellent. However, and it was a big however, the service was awful. The taking of orders was slow to come. The delivery of food took much longer than it should have done. The clearing of dishes was extraordinarily slow and was done a couple of dishes at a time and never completed. All the staff seemed to be interested in (and no doubt they were told to do this) was pestering for more drinks orders. Some but not all of the staff were young and clearly inexperienced. They need to be trained or there will be more dissatisfied customers.
We stopped at the Kings Head for a one night stay .We had our evening meal there and a breakfast, and both were very good. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a nice atmosphere in the bar in the evening. Great location and free parking. Would stop there again.
Really enjoyed our evening meal whilst staying at the hotel. The breakfast is awesome too! There is a good variety of different choices.
The pub is great, fantastic service with very friendly staff, beer very good too. The sunday roast lunch was lovely, however, the roast potatoes yorkshire pudding was overcooked/cremated and there were no parsnips. There was also no stuffing with the poast chicken and the chicken was dry/overcooked.
