18.06.2017 What do Bacco (Bacchus and la dolche vita have in common? Both seem to be at home in the charming little semi-concrete house on the city wall above the Fulda, where the Bacco is located. Originally as a wine and snack bar, the restaurant of the Esposito family in the Rotenburg Castle Park, the Baccho has become a pearl of Italian, not a Neapolitan top gastronomy that is looking for the same in the region. In addition to the small, stylish guest room, in summer the large terrace with the pavillion is very popular, which can be reached via a steep staircase and past the kitchen in the basement or outside by a pedestrian / bicycle path and a few steps. When we came back here about two years ago on a Sunday noon, we had to find that we should have booked better because of the great popularity of the restaurant. From mistakes you will be smart and so we have reserved a table with magnificent views of the Fulda and the historic semi-concrete houses. For this purpose we interrupted our walk through the historic old town of Rotenburg and here in the morning it was not so easy to find someone from the staff who understood our concern until we met the boss personally. The reservation was already registered and we could continue our tour. The reservation proved to be wise advice, because in fact the terrace was very quickly filled for a holiday in a wonderful weather at noon. We hardly sat, the elegant menu was handed over to us and a table with day offers was recorded and placed next to our table. Now we had a big problem watching the menu and the table, namely making a choice. In addition to meat and fish dishes, there are also dishes with homemade pasta and pizzas. Even under the latter one does not find the eight-fuffed offer, as one knows it with a pizza baker. The high Italian cuisine is quite different from the pizzeria. We first ordered our drinks, and unfortunately we had to dispense with the noble wines, due to the time of the day, the summer heat and because we had the vehicle. The drinks were served quickly. Only when we stopped struggling on the map and looked at the table, made our selection and continued our excited conversation, the waiter appeared on our order. The restraint I found very good because I hate nothing more than to command. Here we could choose calm and relaxed. From the main card we ordered a part of Antipasti. From the table I chose the homemade spaghetti with Parmessan and truffle and Mr. N. the roasted baby Calamari in Neapolitan sauce to add a small salad. To the speciality of the house a pizza with organic flour for the dough I dared not approach. The gentleman at the neighboring table found that they taste very good. While we waited for our appetizers, I could look around a little. The terrace is well furnished and well maintained. Stone sculptures on Stelen limit the area next to a railing. The table decoration is pretty and a little playful, but with consideration. In front of the terrace there is a sandy beach with sun loungers. In the middle there is an orientation. A list of Italian specialties, such as various flavored olive oils, which can also be bought here. The sets are exchanged after each guest. The service is operated from three to 4 persons, with the rollers being distributed. While a waiter picks up and collects the food, other service personnel are responsible for drinks and food as well as cleaning. First, the appetizer was served for one person without of course another dish and another cutlery. The antipasti was already enthusiastic about its fresh preparation and the amount from which a person could be fed. On the plate were a Bruscetta, Parmaschinken with Melone, Tomate Mozzarella, fresh(! Olives etc. very appealing. Fresh chiabatta has been added. We were delighted with the taste! Whether the main dishes are held, what the appetizers promise? Yeah, you did. After serving, the truffles placed under a bell were abundantly fresh on the plate. The Calamari with the fresh capers in the sauce looked so delicious that I wanted to taste them. And so they tasted! Whoever does not come together in the mouth can no longer be helped. As I write in this way, I have a little puddle again on my tongue; Garlic, chili and truffle oil were still served, which refined the dishes so delicious that we then bought a bottle of olive oil with garlic to dip it at home with chiabatta. The division of work of the service unfortunately also has its wigs, because the ordered additional salad probably did not reach the right table. We have not complained about the very plentiful proportions so that I would just mention this little manko, but would not take into account the points or the star rise. Although a novel has become of it, Essen was a poem. However, the salad plate was included so that it had to be calculated manually during payment. However, as the waiter quoted consumption, the finding of the correct invoice did not constitute a problem. Including the bottle of garlic oil for € 13,50/l and reasonable tip, we paid € 60, which is very suitable in terms of culinary performance. The prices are for an Italian restaurant in the top area. The main dishes cost between 10 and 25 €. We haven't visited this restaurant for the last time. The next visit is already planned. Eating here feels like a holiday in Naples. Rare a restaurant in my place creates the favorite status. The Bacco did it! Congratulations to Mr. Esposito and his team!
