We were originally going to eat at a fairly expensive restaurant with outdoor seating and a view of the harbor, but my wife suggested we look for a place that was more of a local place. We walked around the corner and hit the jackpot with Estrela Do Mar. The place was immaculately clean and bright. I had the octopus salad which could easily have been for 2 , but it was not! I didn 't think to take a picture until I started eating, so please excuse the photo. You can clearly see how much octopus was in the salad. My main entrée was grilled octopus which was tender and delicious. My wife 's entrée was the Piri-piri chicken which looked equally delicious, and both entrées came with potatoes and vegetables. Including a couple of Coke Zeros it was a very reasonably priced (39 euros) lunch. The service was excellent and I highly recommend Estrela Do Mar!

We had lunch here The place is spotless very beautiful The hosts are simply warm and welcoming I had sardines and they were delicious My husband was so so with his tuna but I don’t care I still give him 5 stars

When we went there on a Saturday evening, the place was almost empty, but it filled up rapidly, and we had to wait a bit for the food. We started with the cooked shrimps and the octopus salad, both was delicious. Then we had onion cod and grilled squid, both OK but not outstanding.

I hate to leave a negative review, but we were really disappointed. We picked this restaurant based on the Trip Advisor recommendation. We waited 45 minutes for our food and when it finally arrived it was rather bland. The cod fish was full of bones and the pork was overcooked.

Fabulous portuguese restaurant run by a lovely family. The owner is a fisherman. Fantastic food and huge portions. Lovely friendly welcoming staff. Spotlessly clean. Very reasonable prices too. So good we ate here twice for our 2 night stay. You will not be disappointed.
