When I arrived for lunch, I was told that I should have made a reservation two weeks ago. But they could seat me on the terrasse, where no reservations were required. It was a balmy September day, so I sat on the terrasse. The other...server arrived and, seeing the second menu, asked if I was going to be joined. I said yes. She then asked me if I wanted to order! I told her that I would wait for my friend to arrive...This initial welcome put me off, but, whatever. On the terrasse, we are seated across the street from an IGA food store, which decided to turn on its ventilators. For about 15 minutes, it was like sitting on a tarmac, with a plane ready to take off. Not good. And the food. Well, I had the gravlax with cold fresh pea soup. It was average. Very difficult to eat, as it was served in a bowl but with long mint tendrils and leaves, which could not be cut (because of bowl). Overwhelmingly minty, too. Plus a glass of wine and a chocolate cake dessert, lunch was $44. Expensive. I will not go back. Too much attitude and not enough substance
Small but trendy place to enjoy a desert and tea or go for brunch. I recommend the breakfast pizza, the deserts are fantastic and they have an interesting tea selection. Its somewhere in between holt renfrew Cafe and Juliette et chocolat. There is a patio...with heaters and the staff isn't pushy and doesn't rush you out the restaurant. The decor is simple but chic and it is very luminous (it's attached to Ricardo's store and desert shop). It's also right off the Victoria Bridge, so it's very easy to access.
You know : food is ok. You can get the same thing in any coffee shop within 4 km. You know : I will just look at Kitchen TV shows.....
I enjoyed my lunch which was a shrimp roll (guedille in French). M'y husband did not enjoyed his panini did not like the panini bread.however we both enjoyed the strawberry shortcake . While we were eating people seem to be crowding around our table which...we found disturbing.Next to the restaurant is the same building there is Ricardo boutique and a chocolate place worth visiting
