Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe had a nice stay at Zuharpeta enjoying both a communal dinner, and a communal breakfast before starting out on our Walk of the Camino de Santiago. Nothing special here, dinner featured a tasty curry chicken, but portions were small overall.
Most of the town's restaurants were closed, and we happened on this place by unfortunate accident as Piperade was on the menu and we wanted to try it before leaving the region. Having intended three courses, we left after two, being so disgusted by the low quality of food. The Piperade was served which consisted of a small slice of bacon atop a mound of reheated mixed veg out of a can and not an egg to be seen, nor local pepper to be tasted. We enquired about the lack of egg and were told the we were mistaken in thinking there should be egg in the dish! This was followed by pasta alla carbonara, which did not include garlic nor parmesan, nor crème fraiche, nor very much egg. And the lardons gave the impression of having been cooked several days previously. I cannot claim to have eaten in an enormous number of French restaurants, but I cannot remember a worse one than this. The overall impression was that the menu was designed to give the chef the least effort to make the most profit without reference to the quality of the food. An insult!
Reception always as friendly and friendly for many years. The sangria asks to come back. good meals with local products always well cooked. Thank you for these good moments of sharing. geneviève antoine
