I like this place, but our experience last time was dizzy. there were more than a few open tables and several people waiting. the hostess told us that the waiting period was 25 minutes, but she sat again and again men in random order. there were more than enough seats waiting for them, but they wouldn't all sit. I'm not sure if they were understaffed and not all of their tables could cover at once or what. another thing that was strange was that we were not offered the opportunity to sit on the bar. we are not masters, so we have forgotten that there was a bar that asked that she did not cross our thoughts. when they sat, we realized that there was not only one bar, but it was mostly empty. after that, service...read more
I had to park a block away on a Wednesday night. I usually don't mind this sort of thing, but I wanted to make this known for safety concerns. RYE is adjacent to Urban Lounge, which is likely to be packed full on weekends, so bear that in mind when visiting. It didn't feel too heavy, which is saying something for a Mac and Cheese. I really liked the textural differences in the middle (breadcrumbs and green onion/chives? . This was really filling, I had to ask for a to-go box so I could get dessert as...read more
Nice atmosphere, good service, friendly staff, big table for my 3yr old's train set yes that's how we roll) and good food. I ordered the breakfast burrito and house potatoes. The food was good but not exceptional and the prices were reasonable $8 for my meal).
Two words: Beer'd clams.. I went here for dinner with my parents and I got the beer'd clams and the herbed fries. I got the combination because I've had it in Paris and it was out of this world. I was not disappointed at Rye! They serve you a big bowl with a hearty amount of clams marinated/ swimming in the most unique beer broth I've ever had. Fittingly, they give you rye toast points to dip in the broth once you've finished the clams. All the while, the fries are just waiting for you to either dip in the broth or eat alone. Both methods are delicious. I will 100% go here again and I have been recommending the restaurant to anyone who will listen.
