Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe were in chateau clery, but in this august the restaurant is closed probably due to COVID-19,) clement rezeptionist has us le clos des brasseurs. excellent choice. beautiful ambiente, waiter helped us not to take veal kidneys. be advised, also veal, but nice piece meat. accompanied by kartoffel puree, ****-champignons and some green boil cream. well cooked, nice taste. beautiful bottle cotes du Provence rose. finish the touch with a beautiful chocolat mousse and a cheese platter. a beautiful meal. in any case something to recommend.
After I found this restaurant randomly on the internet, I was thrilled to visit from new restaurants that I wanted to try in le touquet. the drive out there was nice. the building is absolutely stunning. the people say the menu is incoherent and in fairness, it is a little, but there was something we would all eat happy. we arrived early and the restaurant was completely empty, although not so long, it was very popular. we asked the waiter if we could move tables (it was a little unpleasant) and he was quite repulsive saying, "whatever"! in English. we ordered our meals; the goat cheese salad was good (even if) and the terrine was delicious. the bavette steaks were not the best I had, but were still ok and the Maroilles sauce was great. the carbonara was also good, and again a huge part, although it was served with the egg yolk upstairs when we had not asked for anyone. eating was good and restaurant itself was stunning with a really interesting interieur, but a thing really surprises our experience. I asked the waiter if the service was included and he said, no, it is whatever they want to give, so we paid the bill and gave him a $10 tip (retaining his service not the best). once we left, my partner (he thought he had seen on the menu that the service is included) checked the menu outside and safe enough service was included. I returned to the building to inform the manager/owner about what had happened, as I think that the behavior was so badly reflected on the restaurant and could lead to losing repetition business, or as in our case, a poorer review than they deserve. Despite all the above, I want to return again and can also say that the dame and men who seem to lead the place were very pleased to deal with, especially the dame.
We visited on the strength of the previous tripadvisor reviews. we were not disappointed, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, the service was also fast and efficient. that was excellent, our steaks were beautifully cooked. also with two appetizers, two steaks,...aperitifs and two pichets decent wein come at 70 euro. the place was full, so there was also a good mood. as we discovered on the way out, they have their own brewery, so we will try their products again!
Samer is a small town in the Pas de Calais, unfrequented by tourists. Away from the busy coast this area is surprisingly quiet. La Taverne des Brasseurs (within which is the Clos des Basseurs, by which name it is called in the Michelin red guide)...is in the centre of town, in an attractive old building comfortably modernised. One is made to feel welcome by the host and (I'm guessing) his wife. The food is classic French and none the worse for that. My wife whispered that she enjoyed her blanquettes de veau, but thought her own recipe, taken straight from Escoffier, was better. There is a short and well chosen wine list, Now for some slight criticisms, The menu is quirky and seems designed to buck the assumption that one might order three courses starter, main, dessert and instead order a variety of things, including hamburgers and pizzas. In so doing the place is clearly trying to attract the widest possible clientele. One can't blame it but no restaurant can be all things to all people. The second criticism is of some slightly intrusive music. I remember the war that the British Good Food Guide waged on unnecessary noise in restaurants and wondered what they would say. All in all we enjoyed our meal and would return. An aperitif, two course, a pichet of decent cotes de Gascogne and coffee cost about 60 euros. The service was polite and attentive.
This family run traditional restaurant with good simple French food at reasonable prices is what the English dream of finding but rarely do. We stopped for petrol near by and had a chicken salad to die for. If we could only pass by more often...!
