Primos Mexican Food - San Diego

Came in to get a burrito and drink to go. Got the Mexicali in the smaller size and a medium drink, which came out to TWENTY DOLLARS. I had to double check my order was correct, maybe they accidentally did the larger size burrito or drink? No. I looked at the menu and the Mexicali is considered premium and is $2 more. Fine, too expensive that I knew I wouldn 't be back, but maybe it 's just THAT good. It 's not. Calling that poor quality and cut steak premium is a joke. Had to pick out and throw away several pieces of meat because they were so chewy or had cartilage in it. The staff was nice though, and I guess you can blame the location for the high prices, but nothing excuses low quality meat at that price. It wasn 't bad, but it sure wasn 't good for a $20 to go meal.

Women at the counter was so rude, demeaning, unfriendly almost offensive and makes me not want to come back. That's too bad. It's just as easy to smile than frown. Whoever owns this place should really check her attitude. She also wanted to charge me $10.78 for one Flauta. What's in it gold?

Patricia R. seemed very irritated/grumpy this morning, place not busy either. She charged me for substituting beans for potatoes which no one else here does, and complained about my request for 3 salsas, stating that some people throw them away. I had to assure her that we will intact consume them. I don't appreciate the way I was treated and won't be coming back!

Not impressed. The queso dip was a bit too much like processed Velveeta cheese. Also the portion sizes are weird. My husband got a burrito the size of his arm, and my combo was the size of a kid 's meal! Haha it made us laugh, but I was hungry afterward! Also it was a bit expensive for what it was. It 's at a good location though, which is why we stopped by.

It's ok nothing special. I ordered a Cali and got a steak burrito instead. Seemed to be a bit on the small side. Quality of the steak wasn't great, lots of chewiness. My biggest complaint is the tortilla: it doesn't have the chew that a fresh tortilla should have. In fairness to everything else, the ingredients were fresh and nothing tasted off. It's an ok spot if you're in a pinch, but you can get mush better elsewhere.
